Madison Avenue Baptist Church
Est. 1893
The Madison Avenue Baptist Church was founded on February 15th, 1893, in Paterson, NJ; and, since that day 116
years ago, this fledgling congregation of believers has transformed and grown in ways that no one could have ever
imagined.   The congregation has had many notables in the faith: two former pastors became Christian University
presidents; one mission board began on the church property (and our current pastor is also actively involved in
another mission organization,
Global Faith Missions, based in TN); and even a martyr, John Stam, surrendered to
ministry while being challenged from God's Word in the same pews.   The church welcomes area residents to hear
the Gospel each Sunday morning in English, Spanish, Arabic, Korean and American Sign Language.  MABC opened
the Madison Avenue Baptist Academy in 1981 to answer the need for Christ-centered education.
