Why We Gather

WHY WE GATHER

"So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." Eph 4:11-13

The Greek term for “church” is ekklesia, and is found 114 times in the New Testament. Some translators say that the word is best translated, “the gathering.”

Jesus called His followers to be “a city on a hill” (Matthew 5:14). A city is never made up of one person. When he taught us to pray, he used "us," "our" and "we" instead of "me," "my" and "I". We believe that the church is far more than a location. The church is the interconnected group of believers that constitute the body and bride of Christ.

When We Gather...

We are challenged by the preaching of God’s Word.

We sing old songs and new songs, sometimes in English and sometimes in Spanish, all for the purpose of glorifying God.

Children are introduced to the Bible in ways they can understand.

Teenagers are discipled, trained, and empowered to lead.

Women are honored and actively pursue a deeper relationship with their Lord and with each other.

Men of all ages rally with their brothers to grow in the likeness of Jesus Christ.

How We Gather

We meet on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. We have a nursery and Junior Church for the little ones, but you're always welcome to bring your babies into the main services. We have a little time for bread and coffee in between the Spanish and English services that you don't want to miss. Just follow the crowds into the gym.

On Wednesday nights the men, women and teenagers meet separately to discuss the unique call God has placed on their lives. Someone will usually bring a challenge from the Bible followed by a time of discussion. Feel free to participate as much or as little as you feel comfortable.
