Our Legacy
Since its founding in 1893, Madison Avenue Baptist Church has been a beacon of faith in Paterson, NJ. From the beginning, our church has been committed to sharing the message of salvation through Christ, strengthening believers in the Scriptures, and serving our community with love and dedication.

For over a century, faithful men of God have shepherded this ministry, leading to countless lives transformed, baptisms celebrated, and families added to our church body. This legacy of faithfulness continues today as we equip and encourage one another to use the gifts God has given us.

Beyond our walls, Madison Avenue Baptist Church has played a vital role in the spiritual and social fabric of Paterson. Like many churches founded during this time, we have provided not only biblical guidance but also community support and resources to those in need. Our commitment remains the same: to extend God’s love to our city, the surrounding communities, and the world.
Where we are Now
Madison Avenue Baptist Church is home to a diverse and welcoming church family. Our members come from Paterson and many surrounding towns, representing over 10 countries, primarily from Latin America. We are known for our warm and friendly community, where people from all backgrounds can grow in faith together.

Our facilities include spacious Sunday school rooms, a full gymnasium, a large parking lot, a fully equipped kitchen, and nursery facilities, providing a welcoming space for ministry and fellowship. Beyond our local impact, we actively support missionary outreach across five continents.

We are located at 900 Madison Avenue, Paterson, NJ, just three blocks from Interstate Route 80, placing us within reach of millions of people in the surrounding region—many within just a 20-minute drive.

Connect - Worship - Proclaim
Our Church has a 3 fold vision:

Connect - We seek to connect with those we know in order to help them connect with Jesus Christ and with his Church.

Worship - We seek to help those who connect with Christ understand their role as worshipers in Spirit and in Truth and help them grow in their spiritual lives.

Proclaim - We seek to reach those we do not know and who do not know Christ in our multicultural community through evangelistic outreach and worldwide support and missions.
It is the desire of our people to remain a Lighthouse in this area until the return of the Lord Jesus.
